Becky's story
Becky Biter, Undefeated Courage,
Founder, Executive Director
Unfortunately I learned the hard way.
"With two abortions by age 16 and over twenty-five years of grief, guilt and regret, I no longer wanted to live with the thought that I willingly aborted two of my children. I didn’t know better back then. I was forced to choose abortion. I went through with it because I didn’t feel that I had any other choice.
Until one day at my afternoon job at a local hospital where I was asked to sort through fetal remains from a local abortion center to confirm a successful abortion procedure. I sat there counting parts of babies, holding their tiny hands and feet between my thumb and index finger. In that moment, my eyes were opened to what I had done. I cried over those babies. I sobbed for my own. But I continued to hide from that reality for over two decades more, carrying my heavy burden alone. I pretended everything was fine. But it, and I, was not.
Until one day, I went with my church group to visit the local abortion center to pray for the clients inside – and found myself on my knees, crying, begging for forgiveness – and help. I found both through those friends that day — and healing later through a Rachel’s Vineyard retreat. And in March of 2014, Undefeated Courage was born out of my desire to help others who need someone to offer hope and a way out, too.
That’s why we assembled an amazing group of like-minded, positive, caring sidewalk life advocates who faithfully meet with women just outside of an abortion center’s door near you, every week. That’s where we offer each one real hope and a path toward life.
Now that we've launched, we've seen how important and critical a Mobile Ultrasound Unit is here in our area. We are keenly aware that there are many other women, like me, who need to hear that they are loved – and that there are wonderful, life-giving alternatives available when you listen to your heart, decide to explore the truth, and truly welcome life.”
We invite you to join with us as we continue this mobile ministry with the potential
to reach thousands more who need someone like you to care enough to help.
